Goldeyes five-year Catcher Luis Alen was also able to break a franchise record of his own, as he hit is 124th and 125th career doubles. The recording setting double (124) came in the scoreless second inning. The Goldeyes didnt take long to open up a lead in the game. They got four hits in the first inning that led to three runs in the frame. Jake Blackwood got on base with a single, and then was advanced by Tyler Kuhn, who hit a double. Blackwood would come around to score on a single from Casey Haerther. Kuhn would come home on a wild pitch, and Haerther would score on an error by the Saints first baseman. The Saints would muster a response in the bottom of the first as their lead off batter Mitch Elliott got on base on a walk and then was brought home on a Vince DiFazio RBI single. In the tenth, both teams were able to gain one run in their half of the inning, which squared up the score at five and pushed the game to the eleventh. After neither team was able to put up a run in the eleventh the game went to the twelfth where the Goldeyes took their third and final lead of the night. They managed to double their score on five hits in the top of the inning. In the bottom half of the frame, the Saints got one run back after loading the bases, but werent able to overcome the five-run deficit.
